Nkhata Bay, Mana: Teachers and learners from Chiwaza Private Primary School in Chintheche have hailed an exchange visit at Happy Day International Academy in Nkhatabay last week.
The event was aimed at sharing experiences and best practices.
According to one of the organizers, Fannie Kaunda, the event focused much on reading, writing and counting skills among learners from Standard 1 up to standard 4.
Kaunda who is also a teacher at Happy Day said she was hopeful the visit would help learners and teachers from both schools to share knowledge and experiences and learn from each other.
She said: “l know the learners are quite excited and have learned one or two things from each other.”

On his part head teacher for Happy Day International Academy Odin Ganizani Chirwa commended teachers from both schools for coming up with the idea of an exchange visit.
“Being the first time to come up with this initiative, I have no doubt that these teachers have also learnt a lot from each other. It is a very excellent move,” he said
A teacher from Chiwaza Patience Kaunda, said the visit had exposed her to new skills of engaging learners and new approaches to motivating learners.
“I am happy to be here at Happy Day today. I have learnt a lot of things which as a teacher myself I did not know,” she said.
A standard one learner from Happy Day International Academy Evidence Madi said the event had sharpened her mind.
“Am very happy since we have learnt a lot of stuff here and we also managed to interact with our friends from Chiwaza Private School it is quite exciting,” she said.
Happy Day International Academy Private School started in 2009 with the aim of striving for excellence.
